On June 12, Jiri Prochazka defeated Glover Teixeira at UFC 275 and was crowned the new UFC light heavyweight champion. Event though he submitted the tough Teixeira, he is not satisfied with his performance in the title bout at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

Now, the champion has set his mind on who he want’s to face in his first title defense.

“I want to fight Glover in my next fight,” Prochazka recently said on social media. “Not because it will be another big fight, but just one reason: My performance was bad the first fight and I will show you why I’m the champion clearly, decisively. And I think Glover deserves it. So here’s the offer. I will show you why I am the champion.”

Jan Blachowicz reacts to Jiri Prochazka call out

However, No. 2 ranked light heavyweight contender Jan Blachowicz is not happy with Prochazka’s decision. Just a week ago, the champion claimed that Blachowicz was a bigger challenge than Teixeira, and that statement is nothing that the Polish fighter forgot about when he commented Prochazka’s call out.

“Jan is for me the biggest challenge” – your words. Respect you Champ, but the samurai code was not upheld,” Blachowicz recently wrote on Twitter.

Who ever will be next, the champion aims to get back in the octagon before the end of 2022.

“I have to defend the title,” Jiri Prochazka recently told The Schmo. “Without defending the title you are not the true champ, so that’s what I’m looking for right now, and I will challenge myself after that.”
