Former champion Robert Whittaker just put on one of his best-ever performances against Marvin Vettori in the co-main event at UFC Paris.
The first round was competitive on the feet. Whittaker used his footwork well. In the second round. he turned it up and landed good kicks and punches. Round three continued in the same fashion. Whittaker landed heavy head kicks and heavy right hands.
In the end of the day ”Bobby Knuckles” stood as the winner by unanimous decision with 30-27, 30-27 and 29-28 on the judge’s scorecards.
The fact that Vettori’s chin held up seemed to impress the former champion.
”I was hurting him. Trust me, I hit pretty hard. I know I go to a lot of decisions but trust me I hit pretty hard,” Whittaker said. ”Mate, including the champion, I’m the most dangerous man in the division,” Whittaker said.
With the win, Robert Whittaker is back in the win column after losing to champion Israel Adesanya at UFC 271 in February.
