Top ranked light heavyweight Nikita Krylov will make a quick turnaround as he is already booked to headline his first UFC event on February 25. He last competed a month ago at UFC 280, where he defeated Volkan Oezdemir via unanimous decision in a competetive fight.
In February, ”The Miner” will take on rising star Ryan Spann who viciously knocked out former title challenger Dominick Reyes at UFC 281. Spann has won three of his last four fights over Misha Cirkunov, Ion Cuțelaba, and Reyes, and is looking to further climb the rankings with a new win.
The news was first reported by MMA Junkie.

Nikita Krylov in the mix of a stacked light heavyweight division
Since Jiri Prochazka recently vacated his light heavyweight title – and the promotion elevated the upcoming clash between Magomed Ankalaev and Jan Blachowicz to a title fight – the state of the light heavyweight division is somewhat upside down at the moment.
However, the winner between No. 7 ranked Krylov and No. 10 ranked Spann will put himself in a good position when the dust settles.
The promotion also recently booked a pivotal light heavyweight bout between No. 5 ranked Anthony Smith and No. 6 ranked Jamahal Hill. The fight is scheduled to headline a UFC event in March.
