UFC Vegas 81 results: Veteran Barboza wins entertaining fight via decision

UFC Vegas 81 just took place at the Apex in Las Vegas and was headlined by a featherweight bout between No.11 ranked Sodiq Yusuff and No. 13 ranked Edson Barboza.

Yusuff opened the fight in strong and rocked his veteran opponent with a slick combination. However, Barboza was able to stay in the fight that delivered all-out action from both fighters. After the final bell, declaring Barboza the winner with 49-46, 48-46 and 48-46 on the scorecards.

“I was very dizzy,” Barboza said post-fight. “I didn’t know if I was in the gym, if I was in my house playing with the kids. I said, ‘What the fuck is going on?’ Then, OK. I’m back in the fight.”

With the victory, Barboza has back-to-back wins, as he came from a violent first-round finish of Billy Quarantillo in April.

Post-fight Bonuses

The Performance of the Night bonuses went to Michel Pereira and Jonathan Martinez, while the Fight of the Night bonus went to the headliner between Edson Barboza and Sodiq Yusuff.
