Reports: Gunnar Nelson takes on Daniel Rodriguez at UFC 286

A welterweight clash between Gunnar Nelson and Daniel Rodriguez will reportedly take place at the highly anticipated UFC 286 on March 18.

Rodriguez recently announced the fight on his Instagram stories claiming that he signed the contract.

“Bout agreement signed. March 18 vs. Gunnar Nelson, UFC London,” Rodriguez wrote.

Gunnar Nelson has a UFC record of 9-5

Iceland’s Gunnar Nelson is a BJJ black belt and a UFC veteran who made his promotional debut back in 2012. He fought some of the welterweight division’s top names like Gilbert Burns and Leon Edwards.

In his last fight in March 2022, he defeated Takashi Sato via unanimous decision.

Daniel Rodriguez has a promotional record of a 7-2 that includes wins against tough opponents like Mike Perry, Li Jingliang and Kevin Lee.

Announced fights for UFC 286

UFC 286 will take place on March 18 at The O2 Arena in London, England.

No headliner is yet announced but a welterweight title bout between reigning champion Leon Edwards and former champion Kamaru Usman has been targeted to take place at the event.
