No. 12 ranked UFC bantamweight Umar Nurmagomedov, cousin of former lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov, is ready for a new fight in the promotion.
On January 14, at the first UFC event of 2023, he will take on Raoni Barcelos at the Apex in Las Vegas. The news of the booking was first reported by Brett Okamoto.

The 26-year-old Umar Nurmagomedov is undefeated as a professional MMA fighter, with 15 straight wins. Since joining UFC in 2021, he is 3-0 with stoppage wins over Sergey Morozov and Brian Kelleher, and a unanimous decision win over Nate Maness in June.
Before joining the world’s leading MMA promotion, Nurmagomedov mostly fought in local organizations, except two fighs in PFL.
His next opponent, Raoni Barcelos, has a record of 17-3, with 6-2 in the UFC. He’s also a five-time Brazilian national wrestling champion, and a three-time Resurrection Fighting Alliance featherweight champion in MMA.
Already announced for the January 14 event is a middleweight bout between Kelvin Gastelum and rising star Nassourdine Imavov.
We will also see an exciting top 10 ranked welterweight fight between undefeated Shavkat Rakhmonov and Geoff Neal, as well as a pivotal women’s Bantamweight bout between No. 2 ranked Ketlen Vieira and No. 5 ranked Raquel Pennington.
