PFL fighter Biaggio Ali Walsh is currently making a name for himself in the sport of MMA.
However, as the grandson of the legendary heavyweight world champion Muhammad Ali, he also gets a lot of questions regarding the boxer’s life and achievements.
In a recent interview with TMZ Sports, Ali-Walsh gave his thoughts on if his grandfather would have liked MMA or not.
“I think he would’ve liked MMA. MMA really started with the question of what martial art is the best? He had that question in the 70s, so that question was always there. In a way I would say he was like a pioneer for MMA, he was a boxer and fought a wrestler in an exhibition or something like that,”Ali-Walsh said of his grandfather.
Muhammad Ali would have been a fan of this UFC fighter
There is one fighter in particular that Muhammad Ali would be a fan of according to his grandson.
“I think he would have been a big fan of MMA. Especially at the time when Conor McGregor was at his featherweight run. And Conor was doing his peak trash talk, he would’ve loved it man,”Ali-Walsh told TMZ Sports. “And he backed it up, too. That’s a huge thing too.”
Ali is often cited as the greatest heavyweight boxer of all time, and during his long career he put together a 56-5 record, winning multiple heavyweight world titles.
