The massive boxing fight between Tyson Fury and Francis Ngannou will not have the WBC title on the line but the results of the fight will go on their official records. That’s according to WBC officials.
The October 28 bout will take place under standard boxing rules and take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
At the moment it’s not announced what number of rounds and the size of the gloves the pugilists will wear in the fight.
Ngannou’s first official boxing match was made official just days ago and will most likely be the biggest payday of his combat sports career. If he manages to defeat the heavyweight champion he will pull of one of the biggest upsets in the history of boxing.
Ngannou has had a desire to box professionally for a long time, but is expected to make his return to MMA in 2024 in his new promotion PFL.
Fury has a record of 33-0-1 and is widely considered to be one of the best heavyweights of the past few decades. He has held the WBC heavyweight title since 2020, and previously, held the unified WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, and IBO titles from 2015 to 2016 as well as the Ring magazine title twice between 2015 and 2022.
