Swedish striker Samuel Ericsson took his first loss at Karate Combat this past Saturday.

The Swede moved up in weight to take on Bouderbane in a tough and hard fight that the latter won via unanimous decision after three rounds.

After the loss Ericsson took to Instagram to comment on the fight. Check out the full statement below.

“Hey guys, fight didn’t go our way, love and respect to my opponent and (Karate Combat), Everyone is asking why I didn’t kick more calfkicks since they were successful and the truth is I fucked my foot up really bad after the first kick in the first round. I tried a few times after that but every time I felt that it did, I made it worse and also effected my ability to move and also use my hands.

No excuse, just giving you the reason why I stopped with the calf kicks. I think the decision is nothing more than correct. I also underestimated moving up a weightclass, way tougher than I thought on every level. To all the haters enjoying the result, I’ve been winning and losing my whole life and this loss won’t stop me from keep working hard and chasing my dreams every day.

Congratulations to Alex and his team, I’ll heal up and get back in the gym to become a better version for whatever is next! Thank you for all the messages with love, I’m so grateful to have you here.”
