UFC champ Ilia Topuria teams up with local MMA promotion: ”An alliance that will further enhance MMA in Spain”

Reigning UFC featherweight champion Ilia Topuria teams up with Spanish MMA organization WOW. That’s according to a post on social media by the promotion and the champion.
”We are very excited to welcome Ilia Topuria as a shareholder of WOW. An alliance that will further enhance MMA in Spain. Your talent and passion are a perfect match for our mission and together we will celebrate great achievements,” the promotion wrote on Instagram. (Translated from Spanish)
Topuria is undefeated as a pro MMA fighter and holds seven wins in the UFC. He won the featherweight title by knocking out Alexander Volkanovski at UFC 298 in February. He will defend his title against Max Holloway at UFC 308 in October.

WOW 15 will go down in September
The promotion’s next card will go down on September 14 at Palacio Vistalegre in Madrid.
The card will feature a bantamweight bout between Spain’s Hecher Sosa (9-1) and Brazil’s Douglas Felipe (14-3-1). Sosa gained a lot of attention in Scandinavia with his five wins in Swedish MMA promotion Fight Club Rush.
”I’ve said it many times, so I’m going to let the stadium do the talking. UFC, call me,” Sosa said after his most recent win in May.
The card will also feature fighters frome Ireland, Georgia and Colombia.
