This past Saturday, Danish OKTAGON bantamweight champion Jonas “Shark” Magard delivered a massive performance as he stopped former UFC fighter Gustavo Lopez in the second round.
“I was just better on this night. This is the sport, this is how we live,” Magard told the press. “It’s like he said, its small gloves and it just takes one good punch to change the whole fight and that’s what happened.”
“I think it was the best Gustavo I met in there,” Magard said. “I knew he was going to come in to bang in the first round. That’s what he always does. He likes to put on a show.”
OKTAGON is planning an event in Manchester, at AO Arena, later this year. The Danish fighter trains in the city and very much wants to defend his bantamweight strap on the card.
“I would like to, it’s like a second home for me in Manchester. So if they come to Manchester I would definitly push to be there. I want to stay active this year. I was having a long lay-off and that’s not normally me.”
Magard claimed to be open to fight anybody in his return, but would prefere to fight former champion Anton Rakic.
“Let’s make it happen!”
Jonas Magard has a pro MMA record of 15-5 and rides a three-fight winning streak. He his undefeated in the promotion.
