Aitana Alvarez just took on Megan Morris in the opening fight of OKTAGON 56 in Birmingham.
After trading punches the fighters soon clinched up. Alvarez landed good elbows and knees that made her opponent bleed.
In the second round, the Allstars fighter stepped on the gas pedal and showed proof of her technical striking. The third round was gruelling, but Alvarez was the stronger fighter and after the final bell she stood as the winner with 30-27, 30-27 and 30-26 on the scorecards.
“I want to fight again soon,” Alvarez said after winning her promotional debut.
In a recent interview with Frontkick, the Spanish flyweight was confident ahead of her promotional debut.
“I have never been this sure that I will win a fight,” Alvarez said. “She was a pretty decent fighter as an amateur. Even though she’s 2-2 as a pro, she’s a tough opponent. A complete fighter and a sneaky fighter. In both her victories she was losing the fight but turned it around and won via submission. Standing or on the ground – I don’t underestimate her. But I know I have the necessary tools to make her look like a beginner.”
