YouTuber turned pro boxer Jake Paul’s (7-1) next opponent will be Andre August (10-1). The cruiserweight fight (200 pounds) will take place on December 15 and is scheduled for eight rounds.
It’s fair to say that August’s name doesn’t has the same big-name value like Nate Diaz and Anderson Silva, but Jake Paul claimed it’s an important fight for his future as a boxer.
“I’m a professional boxer and I want to be world champion, so I need to pursue the path towards greatness against people who have been boxing their whole life,” Paul said in a statement.
Texas-based Andre August has the chance of a lifetime to shine against the former YouTuber, who’s coming of a win against MMA star Nate Diaz.
“Jake Paul has the money, the fame, the team and the resources but he doesn’t have my hunger. When that bell rings, I am going to go straight to Jake Paul and ring his bell and send him back to YouTube for good,” August said in a statement.
The fight card will be broadcasted by DAZN and is not a pay-per-view event. In the co-main event we will see a highly interesting WBC women’s super middleweight title bout between Shadasia Green and Franchón Crews-Dezurn.
