Leading Swedish MMA media platforms Frontkick.online, Käftsmällspodden and Maximum Sports merge to become the new powerhouse for combat sports content.

On December 15th back in 2020, at around 12 p.m. Swedish time, Frontkick.online was officially born.

We made waves immediately with some early scoops, delivered high-quality video content with Sweden’s star fighters and grew quickly across all platforms thanks to amazing support from the Swedish martial arts community, and combat sports fans excited to follow the new generation of MMA media.

I founded Frontkick alongside my partner Johan Taliercio, with the help of Westhill Group and Bulldog Media Group‘s investments and incredible leadership. Now, it’s time to announce some major news as we’re ready to take the next big step in our journey.

In a move to create a company with the broadest media offering for Scandinavian MMA and fighting, Frontkick.online – the premier MMA media platform in Sweden – will now be acquired by Maximum Nordic MMA AB, the company behind beloved Swedish fighting podcast Käftsmällspodden as well as Swedish MMA news website MaximumSports.se.

“We are thrilled to welcome the Frontkick.online team to our family”

This means that our three brands will join forces and continue to grow side by side, with a combined staff of Scandinavia’s most prominent MMA journalists and combat sports reporters delivering second-to-none news coverage across all three platforms.

“We are thrilled to welcome the Frontkick.online team to our family,” Andres Viracca, Managing Director of Maximum Nordic MMA said in a press release. “Our aim is to offer the Nordic MMA market the best, fastest and most in-depth news coverage on all platforms.”

“In an ever-changing media landscape, a company constantly need to innovate and provide the consumers with new products and increased value. Andres Viracca and his team at Maximum Nordic MMA has built an impressive platform in the podcasting space and there is perfect fit in this transaction” said Johan Apel, Chairman of Westhill.

“For both advertisers and our dedicated consumer base, this is a great solution. All companies today need to be on all platforms.” said Daniel Högström, Managing Director of Bulldog Media Group.

A perfect fit

As the editor-in-cheif of Frontkick, I’m incredibly excited for what’s in store and I’m absolutely thrilled to be working with my good friend Andres Viracca. I’ve grown to become a permanent member of Käftsmällspodden and already have a very good relationship with his amazing staff at Maximum Sports. The Scandinavian MMA sphere is quite a tight-knit community and instead of operating as rival platforms, I’m sure that joining forces and putting our resources together is the way to go in order to take this to the next level.

In practice, this move means that you might see some writers and reporters from Maximum Sports and Käftsmällspodden contribute to Frontkick’s coverage and vice versa as our staff unifies under one umbrella. MaximumSports.se and its related social media channels will continue to operate as Swedish-speaking platforms while Frontkick.online will stay as an English-speaking platform across the board. In this way, we’re able to cater each of our brands to specific target audiences with similar – but different – goals for each platform.

Frontkick exists as the global branch to bring innovation into the European MMA media space, introduce Swedish and Scandinavian fighters to a broader audience and produce engaging fighting-related content for fans all over the world. With the help of Maximum Nordic MMA AB and all the experience we’ve got these past two years, we’re now able to step it up even further and turn our collective vision into reality.

I feel the momentum building up. Good vibes in the air. Let’s fucking go.
