Yesterday it stood clear that YouTuber turned professional boxer Jake “Problem Child” Paul has signed a multifight, multiyear deal with the Professional Fighters League to compete in MMA.
The 25-year-old is undefeated with 6-0 in the ring and is expected to compete in the promotion’s new Super Fight division where fighters are promised at least 50 percent of the pay-per-view revenue.
In a video posted on his YouTube channel, “Problem Child” commented on the news.
“I’ve already disrupted boxing, and now it’s time to disrupt MMA,” Paul said. “I know this is such a tough sport, and it’s not going to be easy, but if I could do it in boxing, I could do it in MMA.”
Jake Paul: “Down to fight you in your own damn sport”
Paul then offered former UFC fighter Nate Diaz a unique two-fight deal that includes both boxing and MMA.
“I’m so dedicated to this that I offered Nate Diaz a two-fight deal. First we box. Then six months later we fight MMA in the PFL smart cage and lay it all on the line. If that’s not balls, then I don’t know what is. Nate Diaz, I’m down to fight you in your own damn sport. It’s a two-fight deal. Let’s make it happen.”
Paul has already boxed against former UFC fighters Ben Askren, Tyron Woodley and Anderson Silva.
