Swedish knockout artist Tobias Harila (13-4) is once again ready to step into the cage. On November 15, he will take on Adam Cullen (8-2) in a pivotal lightweight bout at Cage Warriors 180 in London.
Harila’s coach, Jörgen Hamberg, is stoked about the matchup as he talks to Frontkick’s Matias Andres.
“Next Generation MMA in Liverpool with Paddy (Pimblett), “Meatball” Molly (McCann), Luke Riley and many others, is probably one of the best gyms in the UK, and always comes with well-trained people. Adam Cullen is no exception. I have seen him in Cage Warriors and he is good. An even fighter who has the whole spectrum of the MMA game,” Hamberg says.
Jörgen Hamberg: “We are 0-1 down in fights”
Jörgen Hamberg is stoked about the matchup as it is a possibility to get even with the famous Next Generation MMA in Liverpool.
“After (Alexander) Lööf’s loss against Luke Riley, we are 0-1 down in fights, so would love if Tobias could step in as the equalizer, as the big bad wolf, and balance things out again. Tobias had a tough weight-cut in Västerås on June 1, and said that ‘the next match I should chill and run 70 because I can’t slim down as hard on the next one’. So we will go up a weight class and test the slightly bigger guys.”
The coach sees a tough opponent in Cullen, but predicts that Harila’s devastating punching power can prove to be the winning factor.
“Both are tough with good striking, but two things I think will play a big role is that guys with bad head movement and sloppy guard will have a tough night against Harila,” Hamberg says. “Cullen is tough and steps in and fights, but is he prepared for the fact that there is some firepower in this guy that is something out of the ordinary? I think both Harila and Lööf will show London and the UK that Sweden, and Västerås Fightclub, have world-class entertainers.”
