UFC 294 is scheduled for Abu Dhabi, October 21st and three massive bouts were just announced for the event! The announcements were made via the UFC’s official social media accounts following an announcement from UFC president Dana White.
UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev will make his second title defense against the former champion and fan favourite; Charles Oliveira. Makhachev most recently defeated featherweight champ and pound-for-pound number one: Alexander Volkanovski. Oliveira re-entered the win column in his last outing, finishing top contender Beneil Dariush via first round TKO.
Aside from that the UFC confirmed reports made by Frontkick.Online – making Khamzat Chimaev vs Paulo Costa official at middleweight!
Both fighters haven’t competed since last year. Khamzat is still undefeated with six straight victories in the UFC – most recently over Kevin Holland. Costa bounced back to the win column in October of last year, decisioning Luke Rockhold.
Aside from that a middleweight match up between Nassourdine Imavov and Ikram Aliskerov was announced for the Abu Dhabi event.
