Iron Maiden guitar player Dave Murray was taught boxing by his dad from a young age and was involved in more than a few street fights as a East London youth back in the 70’s.

However, after hearing Jimi Hendrix for the first time the young troublemaker picked up a guitar and the rest is heavy metal history.

Extra curiosa is that Maiden’s bass player Steve Harris was aspiring to be a professional footballer and scouted to train for Premier League club West Ham United.
