Swedish boxing fans are in for a big treat this spring.

On May 27, Armand Boxing Promotion returns with a major professional boxing show in Malmö, where some of the most interesting Swedish pugilists are set to compete.

In a new interview with Frontkick’s sister site Maximum Sports, former world champion Armand Krajnc told combat sport journalist Philp Dersén about the event.

”This event will lift up professional boxing to the Swedish audience again,” Krajnc said. ”Professional boxing is growing in Sweden. It’s an elegant sport and a very popular form of training as well.”

At the moment, no main event is set, but there are a lot of other exciting fighters booked for the boxing show.

Costas Nanga and Anthony Yigit returns to Sweden

Former European champion, and Olympian, Anthony Yigit is set to return for his first fight in Sweden since 2017. His opponent is yet to be announced. Yigit will first fight in New York in April, before heading for the Swedish event.

Undefeated Swedish prospect Costas Nanga will also fight in Malmö. The Stockholm fighter, now based in Spain, was the most active Swedish professional boxer in 2022. He currently holds a record of 8-0, with seven wins coming by KO or TKO.

”We are working on an eight-round bout for Costa,” Krajnc told Maximum Sports.

The Malmö crowd will also see hometown heroes Simon Henriksson and Mohammed Abdulrahim, as well as the professional debut of Halmstad’s Adolpe Sylva.

Both Anna Hultin and Lucy Wildheart are also expected to compete at the stacked event, which will take place at the Quality Hotel View on May 27.
