Legendary veteran Frankie Edgar set for retirement fight at UFC 281

Former UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar is ready for a final fight in the UFC. On November 12, the 40-year-old veteran will face Chris Gutierrez on UFC 281 at Madison Square Garden in New York. ESPN first reported the news.
The fight will be Edgar’s 30th in the promotion and he currently has a record 24-10-1, with 18-10-1 in the UFC. His opponent Gutierrez is 18-3-2, with 6-1-1 in the UFC.

Frankie Edgar is a former lightweight champion
Frankie Edgar won the UFC lightweight title when he defeated B.J. Penn back in 2010, and then came to defend it successfully twice after. He competed for UFC titles four more times during his career, but never won a title bout again.
At the moment, the 40-year-old veteran is riding a two-fight losing skid, both coming by way of KO. At UFC 286 in December when he was knocked out by Marlon Vera, and prior to that he was knocked out by a vicious flying knee of Cory Sandhagen.

Stacked card at UFC 281
The Madison Square Garden card is headlined by a massive middleweight bout where champion Israel ”The Last Stylebender” Adesanya takes on his rival Alex Pereira.
The card also features a strawweight title fight between two-time champion Carla Esparza and former title holder Zhang Weili, as well as a high profile lightweight bout between top ranked Dustin Poirier and Michael Chandler.
