Rob Whittaker outpoints Paulo Costa in exciting co-main event

Paulo Costa and Robert Whittaker just clashed in the UFC 298 co-main event, in a fight that lived up to all expectations.

The first round started explosive as Costa landed two head kicks while Whittaker threw good combos and leg kicks. In the last seconds, Costa threw a clean spinning heel kick to the head of Whittaker who was seriously hurt but miraculously survived.

Whittaker recovered and landed flush combinations in the second round. Costa’s left leg started to get busted up, but he still presented dangerous kicks.

The former champion ended the even and entertaining fight well with good combinations.

After the final bell, Whittaker stood as the winner with 29-28, 29-28 and 30-27 on the scorecards.

”He’s a tough dude,” Whittaker said. ”I’m back.”
