Topuria or Holloway on short notice? UFC 308 backup explains who he rather faces!

The Brazilian fan favorite and rising star Diego Lopes might find himself in a UFC title fight in just two weeks. As the official backup for the featherweight championship bout between Ilia Topuria and Max Holloway, Lopes will be ready to step in against either fighter on short notice.
But who would the Brazilian rather face of the two featherweight top dogs?
“I definitely would rather fight with Ilia for the undisputed title. That would be amazing. We’ve also really analyzed everything. We’ve sat down to analyze both fighters,” Lopes recently told MMA Junkie.
”People might take this the wrong way and say, ‘No, I don’t believe him,’ but I think for me, a fight against Topuria would be a better matchup for my style.”
The rising star claimed he would need a more complex strategy with room for no errors if he faced Holloway.
”With Topuria, as well, I’m not saying no, but I think against him things would be more favorable because I like to exchange and clash, and I hit hard,” Lopes said.
