UFC 290’s main card lightweight fight between Dan Hooker and Jailin Turner turned out to be a back-and-forth battle where both fighters delivered a lot of damage.
After three even rounds, underdog Hooker stood as the winner via split decision with 29-28, 28-29 and 29-28 on the judges’ scorecards.
After the fight, Joe Rogan asked Hooker if he won the bout with a broken arm. The 33-year-old brushed it off, calling it only a scratch, but x-rays actually show that he beat Turner with a severely broken arm.

After the fight, the 33-year-old from New Zealand gave credit to Turner.
“He’s a tough kid,” Hooker said in the post-fight interview. “I wanted [my blonde hair] pink from the fight and I got it. He’s a tough kid. He’s got a big future. I respect him a lot. I’m just so appreciative of everyone’s support and everyone that stuck by me and knew I’d come through the other side.”
Hooker has back-to-back wins since returning to lightweight following a one-fight stint at the featherweight division.
