Last night, bitter rivals Claressa Shields and Savannah Marshall fought an intense and relentless fight for all four of the major middleweight titles at the O2 Arena in London. The event was a historic night of women’s boxing with the first all-female card in British history.

During ten two-minute rounds, the 27-year-old double Olympic champion was able to outpoint Marshall in front of the sold-out O2 Arena crowd. After the final bell, Shields stood as the winner on all three judges’ scorecards (96-94, 96-94, 97-93) to become the undisputed world middleweight champion.

With the win she’s the only boxer, male or female, to become undisputed champion on three different occasions. The American is also the only boxer in history to hold all four major world titles simultaneously, in two weight classes.

Claressa Shields: “I am the greatest woman of all time”

Even before the historic fight night in London, the American pugilist claimed she is the best female boxer in the history of the sport. With the win, it’s hard to argue against her.

“I am the greatest woman of all time. I have proved that, but there’s still just that one blemish and she’s sitting here and I want to show her that, yeah, you beat me when I was 17. But I’m 27 now and I’ve grown a lot since I was 17. Mentally and physically, and I just want to keep proving I’m the best,” Claressa Shields said.
