UFC title challenger Darren Till left the UFC with five losses in his six last fights. Even though left the promotion in February, after requesting to be let go to pursue other interests, his loyalty still lies with the UFC.
“What’s the point in saying to Hunter [Campbell] ‘I need some time off’ and then go somewhere else?”
However, the Liverpudlian is eager to get back in action and is reportedly close to signing a deal with Misfits Boxing, and has been rumoured to fight “Platinum” Mike Perry next.
“I didn’t want to go straight away and do MMA,” Till said. “I’ve had some crazy offers since I left from MMA organizations. Like the PFL… do I need the money? I think I’ve done it the right way and been in the gym every single day.”
On Saturday, Till’s old training buddy Khamzat Chimaev will make his octagon returns against former welterweight champion Kamaru Usman. The British former title challenger predicted a tough fight for Usman.
“Usman’s got balls, but I just think Khamzat is going to run over him – I do. As much as I’m his friend, I’m his biggest fan, Khamzat. I think he’s going to run over Usman. All respect to him. He is a GOAT, but yeah – I think Khamzat is going to ragdoll him. I do, sorry to say,” Till told The Schmo.
