Former UFC champion Ronda Rousey will star in a new FOX reality series called “Stars on Mars”.
She will be one of 12 celebrity astronauts that will compete in ‘galaxy surroundings’ according to a news release. At the end of each week, one contestant will be eliminated from the show.
“An out-of-this-world new unscripted series, in which household names trade in their possessions, status and glamorous lifestyles on Earth for an insane and hilarious summer on Mars,” said the official release. “Their mission? To be suited up with no space to go, as they colonize, compete and conquer their new galaxy surroundings, until there is just one ‘celebronaut’ left standing.”
The show will be hosted by legendary “Star Trek” actor William Shatner.
Other cast members includes Tour the France cyclist Lance Armstrong, figure skater Adam Rippon as well as NFL stars Marshawn Lynch and Richard Sherman. The show will air on June 5.
Ronda Rousey is one of the biggest names ever in the UFC and made history as the first female UFC Champion. She defended her bantamweight title six times, all by stoppage, before she lost to Holly Holm at UFC 193 in November 2015.
Rousey was inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame back in the summer of 2018.
Before her MMA career she competed at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, China, where she defeated Annett Boehm to win a bronze medal.
