Two Swedes won gold at the European Muay Thai Championships

The European Muay Thai Championships took place in Turkey during the week, and several of Sweden’s best Muay Thai fighters participated in the tournaments.
Öresund Muay Thai’s Livia Nygaard faced Finland’s Miina Sirkeoja in the finals. Nygaard put on a great performance and got a clear unanimous decision win, winning every round against Sirkeoja.
Andreas Lilliecrona from Fight Camp Warberg also bagged a gold medal in Turkey. In his first fight in the tournament he defeated Croatia via TKO and in the finals, Russia left walkover.

European Muay Thai Championships
Anna Strandberg fought her way to the semifinals where she eventually lost to Emma Nurmi from Finland.
Frida Lindberg dominated her fight against the Czech Republic but fell short against Russia in the semifinals.
Marcus Sundin Liljedorff defeated both Czech Republic and Russia and faced Turkey in the semifinals. The fight went the distance and the Swedish veteran unfortunately lost the bout via unanimous decision.
The strong Swedish squad also featured fighters like Vilda Ekhorn, Sam Wingqvist and Johanna Persson.
