Swedish-Albanian UFC prospect Bernardo Sopai is looking forward to returning to the octagon with a bang on November 9.
In a recent interview with Swedish MMA journalist Tony Nguyen, the young UFC fighter talks about his upcoming fight against Ricky Turcios and what he expects from it.
“He’s an aggressive fighter. A good fighter, a good match for me,” Sopai said.
“I will make him look bad, you know. I will dominate him. I believe that I’m much better than him. That’s the most important thing. I believe that I can finish him. First round, second round, third round – it doesn’t matter. I believe I will get the job done.
Bernardo Sopai is a former two-organization champion, in Swedish promotions FCR and AFN, and plans to add the UFC bantamweight strap to that collection within a few years.
“I’m here to take the belt so it doesn’t matter who is going to be in front of me. I believe when I’m around 26 to 27 years old – maximum – I will become a champion in the UFC.”
Sopai made his short-notice UFC debut in March. After a strong start he eventually lost via KO to Vinicius Oliveira in the final round. Before the loss he had three straight KO/TKO wins.
