On Saturday May 6, boxing superstar Canelo Alvarez returns for a super middleweight title bout against UK’s John Ryder.

The fight will be the Mexican boxer’s first on his home turf since 2011, and his WBA (Super), WBC, IBF and WBO super middleweight titles are on the line.

Returning to the ring and coming back to fight in Jalisco, where I’m from, makes me especially happy. And in John Ryder, I’m facing a very competitive fighter,”  Canelo said about the fight.

“There’s no denying that Canelo is one of the greats, and I’ve got a lot of respect for what he’s achieved in the sport, but I fully believe this is my time to fulfill my dream of becoming a World champion,” Ryder said about the fight.
