Swedish MMA fighter Jonny Touma just inked a deal with Abu Dhabi-based MMA promotion UAE Warriors.
The 28-year-old bantamweight announced the news in an Instagram story, and in an exclusive statement to Frontkick, he comments on signing with the organization.
“I’ve been longing to get back in the cage, it was way too long ago I had a fight. It feels awesome to get the opportunity to fight at UAE Warriors again, and I’m going there to bring another show,” Touma says to Frontkick.
The Swede made his UAE debut in July last year – and did so in style.
With a massive first-round submission against Reydemtor Nacionales, he really showed both the promotion and the fans what he’s capable of.
In his last fight at Fight Club Rush 13, Jonny Touma pulled off another impressive performance. He was originally scheduled to face rival Zoran Milic in a barn-burner FCR 13 main event, but the fight unfortunately fell through due to an injury.
Touma instead took on the tough short-notice replacement Safiullah Husseini, and submitted him in the first round.
Since his professional debut back in August 2020, 28-year-old Touma has competed in various promotions like Fight Club Rush, Brave CF and UAE Warriors. All in all, he holds a pro record of 5-1.
