UFC light heavyweight veteran Glover Teixeira watched a fair share of TV lately.
Recently visiting Ariel Helwani’s The MMA Hour, the Brazilian light heavyweight revealed that the barbecue nights with good friend Alex Pereira always turns into a TV night, where the newly crowned middleweight insists on watching his fight against Israel Adesanya at UFC 281.
“He’s crazy man! He watches the fight every time he comes to my house. You know we hang out all the time, we don’t do too much stuff, but we hang out,” Teixeira said. “I like to hang out, talk shit. But then he sits down in front of the TV ‘Hey, can you put my fight on’. I watched that fight like 500 times, he keeps watching it.”
The former light heavyweight champion helped Pereira prepare for the title bout against Israel Adesanya at Madison Square Garden, and is certain that his countryman will beat Izzy if they ever square off in the Octagon again.
“I think if that fight happens again, Alex will beat him in all the rounds,” Teixeira said.
Glover Teixeira has no fight booked since his scheduled title bout against Jiří Procházka recently got cancelled due to an injury. UFC offered him to fight Magomed Ankalaev at UFC 282, but the Brazilian wanted more time to prepare for the tough opponent.
