UFC Sao Paulo: Jailton Almeida outpoints Derrick Lewis

UFC Sao Paulo is now live from at Ginásio do Ibirapuera in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

The card was headlined by a heavyweight matchup between Brazil’s own Jailton Almeida and former title challenger Derrick Lewis.

Fighting on his hometurf, Almeida had the rowdy Brazilian crowd with him from the start.

After five rounds of action, where the Brazilian completely dominated most of the fight on the ground, the judges gave him the nod with 50-44, 50-44 and 50-45 on the scorecards.

With the win, Almeida is still undefeated in the UFC as will climb further in the rankings.

Dalby stops Bonfim with massive knee

In the welterweight co-main event, Brazil’s Gabriel Bonfim started strong with a solid first round. However, the Danish veteran Nicolas Dalby turned things around with a heavy knee that floored his opponent. After Dalby landing a barrage of punches on the ground, the referee stepped in to stop the fight.
