A biographical sports drama movie about historic heavyweight boxing champion George Foreman will be released by Sony Pictures on April 28.
The film is directed by George Tillman Jr, and features actors like Khris Davis and Sullivan Jones, as well as Oscar and Golden Globe awarded movie star Forest Whitaker. Filming took place from February to March 2022 in New Orleans.
The movie focuses on the life of the Olympic Gold medalist and two-time world champion, who defeated Joe Frazier in 1972, to become heavyweight champion for the first time.
Foreman is perhaps most known for fighting Muhammad Ali in the massive boxing bout “The Rumble in the Jungle”, that took place in Zaire in 1974.
In 1987, after a decade away from boxing, George Foreman surprised the world by announcing a comeback.
At age 45, in 1994, Foreman regained the title he had lost to Ali two decades before, after knocking out Michael Moorer, and became historic as the oldest boxer to ever win a world championship.
