PFL Playoffs 3: Sadibou Sy’s opponent gets tough punishment for weight miss!

On Wednesday August 23, it’s time for the PFL Playoffs 3 event at The Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York. The card features the lightweight and welterweight semifinals, and includes a bunch of the promotion’s top names, including last year’s welterweight winner Sadibou Sy.

However, at the event’s weigh-ins two fighters competing on the card missed weight.

Sadibou Sy’s opponent, Carlos Leal, missed weight by 1 pound for their welterweight semifinal bout, and will be fined 20 percent of their purse, as well as a point deduction if the fight goes to the judges.

John Caldone, who’s fighting in a showcase bout on the prelims, missed weight by 2.6 pounds for what was scheduled to be a featherweight fight against Nathaniel Grimard. He will be fined 20 percent of his purse.
