Nebil Ibrahim is one of the best amateur boxers in Scandinavia at the moment, with big international wins and Swedish Championship medals. Now it set that he will represent Sweden in the summer Olympics in Paris, France.
A dream come true for the Swedish pugilist.
“It’s fantastic, it’s a privilege that every athlete is fighting for, but very few reach. To be one of the 18 is just fantastic,” Ibrahim said during a press conference earlier today.
“The Olympics is the biggest prize anyone can win in sports. With the WBC belt and all, that it’s just about money. But I’m as uninterested in material stuff as you can get, so I would rather win glory than money.”
The Uppsala boxer Nebil Ibrahim has four straight Swedish championship gold medals and is one of the brightest shining stars on the regional scene.
“When I was younger I had a coach who won a gold medal in the European Championships, so I told my uncle that I would do it too. Then he asked me why I didn’t want to win the Olympics since it was bigger,” Ibrahim told Frontkick’s sister site Maximum Sports.
