At the UFC 282 post-fight press conference, president Dana White announced that Glover Teixeira and Jamahal Hill will fight for the vacant light heavyweight title at UFC 283 in Brazil.

After a lackluster split draw in the UFC 282 main event, where no new light heavyweight champion was declared, the president had some good news to share.

“You do Glover versus Jamahal Hill in Brazil for the vacant title. Done,” White said.

This means that Teixeira will get another chance to win back the light heavyweight belt after losing to Jiri Prochazka via a late fifth-round submission in June.

His new opponent Hill, has won three straight bouts, including a stoppage victory over former title challenger Thiago Santos.

UFC 283 will take place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on January 23. The card also features a flyweight title bout between champion Deiveson Figueiredo and interim champion Brandon Moreno. This will be the long-time rivals fourth fight.
