Ex champ TJ Dillashaw trashes division: ”I’m still the best”
Publicerat

The UFC bantamweight division is one of the promotions strongest by far, but if you ask former champion TJ Dillashaw the weight class is missing its best fighter.
Dillashaw hasn’t competed since he retired after a TKO loss to reigning champ Aljamain Sterling at UFC 280 last year.
Now, speaking to the Jaxxon Podcast with former UFC champ Quinton ”Rampage” Jackson, Dillashaw claims that he is still the best fighter in the division.
“I know that I’m still the best guy in the weight class,” Dillashaw said.. “By far, I believe I’m the best guy in the weight class, and for the sport to be taken from me the way that it was, it just doesn’t sit well with me. It kind of pisses me off. If the shoulder’s good, I’m definitely – I have to get back in there. I can’t let it go out the way it did.”

TJ Dillashaw has a tainted legacy
While Dillashaw certainly was impressive during his title reigns between 2014-2015 and 2017-2019, his legacy is forever tainted.
After a knockout loss to flyweight champion Henry Cejudo Dillashaw tested positiv for steroids and wa ssubsequently stripped of his title and suspended for two years.
Upon returning he won a controversial and criticised split decision over Cory Sandhagen, only to later on lose to Sterling one year later.
There is no questioning that Dillashaw is one of the best bantamweights to compete in the UFC, but it will never be known how much he gained from banned substances.
